New pre reg already brokedown

Featured Replies

I picked up a 18 plate ford focus Friday. It is a pre reg with 11 miles on the clock. I was told it had a new battery fitted that morning. I drove the car until later that afternoon it wouldn't start after stopping for petrol. Flat battery. I bought this car to be reliable, is there any fault I need to be aware of or is this just very bad luck?

Sounds like the battery wasn't new.  Have a look at it and see if it looks clean or covered in dust etc.  There might even be a date on it.

If it's a year old without being used it'll either need a good charge or a new battery.   Either way, tell the dealer you want it sorted!

Thanks TomsFocus. I don't have the car so can't look but I'm told another new battery is being fitted today. Fingers crossed it works. Third time lucky!
