12v socket always on

Featured Replies

Hi, sorry if this has already been covered but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Just purchased a MK8 2018 Fiesta ST line X and noticed my dashcam was always running.

Is there a definitive guide or video as to how to make the 12v socket ignition live only?

Many thanks in advance

No. You're best off just hardwiring it in. Looks miles cleaner and obviously only turns on when the ignition is on. Definitely a DIY job to anyone who knows what a screwdriver is.

Great thanks, I'll look into that

Are u sure socket is perm live as on most Fords now socket powers down after car has been locked for some time (10min - 1hr) . Then on some can power up again when car is unlocked and opened.
