Stereo Replacement 2006 Mk5 Fiesta

Hi all,

I've attempted today to replace my partners factory fitted stereo for her Mk5 2006 Ford Fiesta, and the installation itself was fairly simple but unfortunately there seems to be no power to the aftermarket headunit, There is a spare red cable that hangs off the ISO harness which i know from previous experience is used to connect to an ignition source to give the headunit power, Can anyone confirm that i DO need to connect this red wire to an ignition source for this car, and if so, Can i just use a piggyback cable from the fuse box, and then run the cable through the back somehow and connect it to the red wire on the wiring harness?
