Ford Galaxy MPG

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Hoping to get some feedback in relation to an mpg query.

I recently purchased a 2015 Ford Galaxy 2.0 Tdci Automatic with 130,000 miles (full service history, etc.) and appear to be getting about 38mpg (combined).

I recognise that there are a lot of variables that impact upon this figure but as it seems particularly low to me, just wanted to sense check this number. As it's my first 7-seater (previously owned Mondeo's) it may be my expectations that are unrealistic.

Thanks,

Mark

Auto is not a good start for economy, heavy vehicle. I would expect 40 ish mpg with town driving/ short journeys. What type of journeys are you taking?

It's a fairly even split of short journeys / town driving and long motorway journeys, which is why I was expecting a bit more than I'm currently getting. Is a service likely to improve this figure?

Hi

I have the same vehicle with 40K on the clock.  Since day one, with an averages speed of around 12mph (based on the onboard computer) I get around 32mpg, so your figure sounds about right to me.  I very rarely go on the motorway.
