electric failure whilst towing

Featured Replies

spent nearly £900 on a ford detachable tow bar, ford loom and fitting by a ford dealer, but cannot tow my trailer or caravan because the trailers have led lights.   Ford customer services deny this is a endemic problem and say it is my problem because the trailer must be wired wrong and causing the fault.   A simple google search shows a number of people with the same problem, when you tow it comes up with a brake light/bulb failure and indicator light/bulb failure, but worst than that it leaves the electric module on when the trailer is disconnected which drains the battery overnight  leading to a completely dead battery in the morning, so dead you need to use the key to open the doors.

the trailers work with other vehicles no problem

Someone at the local dealership has admitted this is a failure across all ford vehicle but ford uk will not acknowledge the fault or rectify it.

Has anyone else here had a similar problem,??

How was it resolved???
