TPMS

Featured Replies

Hi

I am wondering if my 65 plate Black Edition has a tyre pressure monitoring system - where do I check?

I see an option for it in the stereo menu and it lets me 'reset' it etc.

I'm not sure it has one because I checked my tyre pressures recently and one was down by about 5 PSI so I put some air in it - no notice of this on the dash. How much air do the tyres need to lose before something flags up?

Tom

Yes It should have TPMS as from 2012 it was a legal requirement for it to be fitted to all vehicles at manufacture.
Afaik, TPMS will activate in the event of sudden pressure loss in a wheel or if the pressure has dropped by 20% or more of the normal pressure.
In a tyre which has a normal pressure of 30psi, the system would not activate until the pressure was less than 24psi.
Losing a few psi over time would not flag the TPMS warning until it is lower than the 20%.
