I've had a problem with my diesel fiesta today and am out of my depth. Wondering what is wrong and how much it will likely cost to fix. If anyone has any ideas on this id like to hear from you.

Whilst driving the following happened in the following order

1. Batt light on

2. abs light on

3. Traction control light on

4. Spedo rev counter not working, nor computer message screen

Drove home, parked, but now it wont start or lock the doors.....

Primary cause of the Batt light is a failed alternator, or broken aux belt to the alternator.

I am not sure of the time between events, but with no charge, the battery voltage will decay, and electronic modules will progressively fail, ABS & Steering are likely to be early fails, ECU should be last, as it is designed to cope with very low battery voltage during a cold start.

If battery voltage is still ok, then I would suspect an instrument cluster fault, a wiring (eg can bus) fault, a BCM fault, or as a last resort, an ECU fault.
