POWER STEERING

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, had my 1.6 tdci econetic 2010 for a few months now and have just had a problem with the steering, I lost all control, wheel was spinning like a record, with total loss

of control, long story short, garage has replaced the intermediate shaft and the power steering unit, but the power steering is not working, they say that its a sensor issue, and

it will need to go into a FORD garage for analysis, ..My Question to any one in the know is this, I believe the unit is called the SAS linked or controlled in part by the  ESC,

are these also linked or controlled in any way by the main ECU, this as just before the failure i fitted a race chip module, which as you know bypasses the factory setting

of the ECU,  the race chip did not have anything to do with the steering failure, it was a bolt that failed and as per the garage caused failure and elsewhere,

so in the first instance my only thought is that I need to reset my ECU back to factory settings, do you think that this would allow the rest of the system to kick back in and re

recognize the SAS ??
