Focus 1.0 Ecoboost coolant leak

Featured Replies

I had my Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost Air-conditioning serviced on Friday as the air had turned hot through the blowers. Got it serviced by a garage opposite the main dealer, as recommended by them as they were busy..

All appeared fine, lovely cold air except on pulling away from the garage I noticed a puddle of water on the floor, thought it was where the air-con had been running.

I drove away from my house the following morning (today) I noticed more water underneath the car. I drove it 10 miles and a yellow warning light came on telling me to pull over, overheating issues?

A further 2 miles down the dual carriageway and coming off a roundabout a red light came on saying stop now, in which the engine then stopped.

Called out a breakdown truck, they added lots of water into the coolant reservoir, it just disappeared. They now think the head gasket might of blown and possible engine failure.

The car is regularly serviced by a main dealer and was done at the start of June.

Would this be anything to do with the 1.0 Ecoboost Engine problem?
