Found this bulb rattling around in the back windscreen plastic cover

Featured Replies

Anyone know what this bulb is for? Or if it even is a bulb? Found in the back windscreen plastic on a 2008 mk6.5 fiesta. 3c5fb80078d7291b6dc678e451766480.jpg

It's a number plate bulb.  Sometimes known as a 'festoon' bulb.

Is the filament complete?  It's probably blown and been dropped when changing?

I checked both the number plate bulbs and they lighr up. The filament is intact, not sure when the bulbs were last changed. Guess i dont need to worry about this then?

Bit odd if it's a working bulb, maybe someone upgraded to LEDs instead?

But yeah, nothing to worry about.

Autobeam if you've got a heavy wallet!!

You can get cheap ones on ebay etc but they're usually poor quality and don't last long.

LED Dipped beams conversions unfortunately aren’t strictly legal at the moment although lots of people fit them anyway and in all fairness, it’s rarely picked up. Other bulbs such as reverse lights or number plate bulbs are fine to change. Autobeam or CEUK are the “larger” suppliers of good quality LED bulbs
