EML coming on after EGR valve replacement

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post (New to the forum!).

I have a 2013 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI (38k miles) and it recently had an issue where it would be sluggish in accelerating (weird drops/pauses in revs when accelerating etc) as well as the engine light and "Engine Malfunction" message coming up putting it into limp mode until i restarted the engine.

A new EGR valve has fixed the accelerating/sluggish problems however I'm still getting the same limp mode and engine light as soon as I hit 70mph (Sometimes at slower speeds but 90% of the time it's at 60mph+). Independent garage (Not taken it to Ford yet) has changed fuel filter, air filter, changed the oil and the usual checks but it's still doing the same, they said they're going to have to get an electrical specialist to look at it in the next few days. I thought it would be worth posting here to see if anyone has any ideas in the meantime?

Willing to provide any information you need! (Not an expert on cars though so sorry if i can't answer everything)

Thank you so much,

Aidan
