Ford Fiesta Boot interior patched up under carpet

Featured Replies

Hi, just got a used Ford Fiesta edge 2010 and in the boot under the carpeted sort of insert/ pull out cover that covers the spare wheel there seems to be a sort of patch covering something up on the metal. It’s like a sort of sandbag material/ jute that’s solid. Just wondering what it is or if it’s normal or a bad sign of rust or something. I’ll post a pic once it stops raining.

Could be a sound deadening pad - factory fits them to absorb tinny sounds, you'll also find them on the back of each panel behind the plastic trims (doors, side panels, etc)
