Hi people

I have an issue with my cruise control, when u press the switch to put it into standby it’s not always coming on. When it hasn’t worked, I’ve got under the steering wheel and when the clutch is pressed in pushed the button in on what I believe is the cruise cancel switch and then it’s worked. But it’s become more of an issue so I’ve taken the switch off to get numbers off of it, but with the switch off I tried the button and the cruise goes into standby and was working, cancelling correctly when the clutch was pressed so I’m a little confused as to what the switch actually does. I’ve found a replacement switch with the same part numbers and they call it a cruise switch. 

Hoping someone might help me out.
