Ford Focus boot locked and no power

  • Author

Hi, I have a Ford Focus 12 plate keyless fob and have just come to start it and everything is dead, no power at all. I suspect a flat battery and am awaiting recovery. however, I have also noticed that the boot will not open. Could the two issues be linked? many thanks in advance

The boot solenoid needs power so a dead battery would definitely affect it.

Thanks and it was the battery as I have had a jump start. However I now have noticed that the dash doesn't light neither do the lights on the car. However the radio, air con etc do. Is this due to it being jump started rather than key fob started?

May be worth checking the fuses.
Some may have popped after the jump start.

Problem solved. The battery was that flat that it caused s communication error with the dash and the computer had to be reset

Happy days [emoji106]
