1.0 Ecoboost engine tapping at idle

Featured Replies

Hi,

ive had a look for a discussion about this but can’t seem to find it, but basically I have a focus 1.0 Ecoboost on a 62 plate. Currently with 76,000 on the clock. I’ve noticed a tapping noise coming from my engine when I am idling at 750rpm, when I rev it upto 800/900 the tapping disappears. I service my car every 10,000 miles without fail and use shell 5w20 engine oil and NGK spark plugs. I have also noticed when I rev the car and release the gas the whole car shakes when the RPM drops to around 900-1250rpm.

Is therr anything i could possibly look out for?

Hi,

Did you solved problem ?

Yes ..... No.......Maybe. Can you repeat the question ?

3 years later the 'One Post Wonder' kid has never been back, so I guess just lives with the problem 🤣

Isnt this jusst the usual loud ecoboost noise anyway lol

I’ve noticed the same noise and found that it was my turbo actuator rod rattling on the metal surrounding it
