Help Lost Locking Wheel Nut Key

Featured Replies

Hi all,

took my car to a garage two weeks back to have a nail removed from my tyre. I asked the guy when he had done if he put the locking wheel nut key back. He said yes

I remember looking in the boot but it was so full at the time

I'm not sure if i spotted it or not. Stupid me ey !!

I went to take the locking nut key out of the car today and I can't find it anywhere.

If worst comes to worst does anyone know how much Ford charge for a replacement? I believe its not cheap.

Thanks

If the car was provided with locking wheel nuts from Ford, then they're likely to be McGuard locking wheels nuts.

If you can't find it, it might be worth going to a garage. They will have the tools to remove locking wheel nuts without the key. Once they've taken them off, provide them with some new wheel nuts and have them replace old with new.

I believe these are available from Halfords for around £35 :)

Thanks for your help. It's something I hoped would never happen as I'm normally really careful but some how it has !
