Engine/clutch noise

Featured Replies

Hi

I just had ford 100k service completed, car had to go back in w weeks later due to fuel filter needing changed as car was loosing power.

Since Ford changed fuel filter car has now a rattle noise when clutch is initially press.  I have checked nothing is loose in engine.

Any thoughts what this mayb?

If it's the clutch trust ford say on their website £799 for new clutch is this reasonable or a bit expensive?

Hi

my 2008 galaxy had its clutch done at 170k after making noise for quite a while and the job cost £1k as the grinding sound was the noise of the worn plate grinding the fly wheel nuts down which then had to be drilled out!

my advice get the advice of an independent clutch specialist.

Trust Ford have told me it the flywheel that's causing the noise.

£500 + VAT for flywheel alone then new clutch, told me about £1,200 for the job.

I have been quoted £700 for parts and labour by independent garage.
