Engine fan coming on when engine cold

Featured Replies

Hi folks

Ford Fusion 2006, 1.4 petrol, 33k miles.

Engine cooling fan seems to be coming on even when the engine obviously isn't hot, for example, when the car is started first time in the morning.

Any ideas, much appreciated and TIA.

Cheers

Have you got the air conditioning switched on?

Ah right, ok. Thanks for the reply.  It's actually my Dad's car, so I'll double check. So, is the fan on all the time that the ac is running, didn't realise that?

Yep, fan runs all the time with the AC on.

Also worth noting that if you leave the blower direction set to windscreen only, the AC automatically comes on every time you start the car.

Thanks for taking the time to reply on this. Understand how it works now!
