Regeneration led

Featured Replies

Whilst previously owning an insignia, there were some members that had installed a led bulb to notify them that their vehicle was performing a regen so they knew not to interrupt the process! Apparently the rear window heater activated during this process so they piggybacked the led off of this fuse, hence when the rear window heater activated during a regen so did the led light alerting them to the process...

my question being does anyone know of anything similar that activates during a regeneration on a ford ecosport 2016 diesel? Would like to install a led to let me know when it’s performing one , but no idea which fuse to piggyback from for the led light.

Same here for my Edge - would be really useful to have some sort of indication that a regen is happening

Well, I'm amazed I've never even heard of doing this before!!  Is it Vauxhall only or do others do it as well?

When I bought the 2006 Vectra 1.9 CDTi, I specially bought it as it was one of the last large diesels without a DPF so didn't have to worry about it lol.

I'll have to check whether the rear screen comes on in the Golf next time it does a regen.  It should be today as I stopped mid-regen last night. It's pretty easy to tell on that though as the 'downshift' arrow comes on asking the driver to keep the revs above about 1500rpm.

I suspect the Ecosport probably uses an atomiser type regen so wouldn't need the extra load on the engine from electrical consumers.

I've got 2L Duratorq and since I "mainly" do short trips I want to make sure it is doing what is necessary

(I put mainly in commas since someone on here felt it appropriate to tell me I should have bought a different car or the Edge with a petrol engine :whistling:)

Yes i did and ill stick with it if you are doing mainly short journeys a diesel is not the best option, but if you want an edge its all you can get.
