Putting DPF back in

Hi.

Is there anything I'm likely to have to do other then the physical DPF replacement, if I am to return to having a working DPF, as compared to a hollowed-out one?

the car's a 2.2 TDCI 200HP Galaxy, and while diagnosing a fault, I discovered the DPF had been hollowed out, which explains the smoke a idle and when accelerating hard. So, I want to get the car back to a MOT-passable state, and will fit a second hand DPF. My concern is, whether there's anything else I should do such as have a re-map in case it's standard practice to disable regen or disable EGR when hollowing out a DPF.

I am tempted by a remap anyway, so thinking that perhaps I should get the place to check for any disabled aspects, but if I need to have things re-enabled it becomes urgent whereas otherwise a remap wouldn't be a priority for me.

DPF's cant just be smashed through without also being mapped out.  It causes engine lights and limp mode at best, with engine bay fires at worst!  So it will definitely have been mapped out.

The EGR may or may not have been mapped out at the same time.  If a belt and braces approach was taken, it might also have been physically blanked as well.

And the power may or may not have been increased at the same time.

So if you refit the DPF, you will need to have it mapped back in.  And will also need to check whether the EGR was blanked or disabled at the same time.  Obviously it's up to you whether you have a power map added as well.
