Hi wonder if anyone can help me looking into buying a ford transit mk1. The problem is that it is a import from Germany and it got driven over to the uk about 10 years ago by the previous owner. But he lost the paper work. Is there anyway I can look into or find the paper work to see if I can get it road registered before I buy. Contacted the DVLA but that was no help. I have the vin number. Cheers for your help

    Has it been registered in the UK?  if so you can apply for the log book in  your name, they may conatct the previous owner so some sort of receipt may help.

     

    if it hasn't been regostered i think you can still apply and you will need proof of the date of construction, which is great as you'll then get an age related number and tax exemption.
