Ford fiesta mk7 zetec s (2009) 1.6 petrol or diesel?

Hi, I am thinking about buying a mk7 fiesta Zetec s 2009  plate however I am stuck in deciding whether the diesel or petrol will be better for me. I am wanting something sporty as the TD version comes as 94bhp but with torque of 147lbs compared to the petrol version of 118bhp only 112lbs torque. What would you recommend to buy?
