Service & oil change at 5k

Featured Replies

My 2019 courier has just told me that it needs an oil change and service at just over 5000 miles.

It is my daily drive doing about 60 miles a day to the office and it rarely gets above 60 mph, so not been hammered.

I dipped the oil, plenty in there but is is a lot blacker than I would have expected at these miles.

Is this normal for the first service, do they use a different oil for the first few months or something to worry about? I thought the service intervals were 20k.

Seems very short miles even for a diesel.  The missus 1.0 has done 6k and is at 50%, my 1 5 has done 3k and is at 76%.  Both petrol.

It'll be all the extra DPF regens due to the very latest Euro 6.2 emissions.  Do you have the Ford Pass app to keep an eye on oil quality?

you need to contact your dealer to have a software update and oil only changed free of charge.

the warning is not because your due a "service" but oil change due to oil dilution.

No, the app won't load up for me on my phone, seems really flakey. I'll try reinstalling it or wait until I get my new phone over the weekend.

It is in for an oil change next week with my local garage.

Is there a software update available? Certainly nothing I can install as the car connects to the WiFi every day and I check it one a week or so.

It is in with my local garage on Monday for an oil & filter change

you need to contact your ford dealer who will do the update and oil change free of charge

after the update the oil will last longer.

Why would the dealer do it free?  You'd have to prove it was a fault.
