Mk3 galaxy issues

Featured Replies

Hello all. I have picked up a mk3 galaxy and has been fine no issues at all. Went into the car last night no interior lights. Come to the car today and no it refuses to start with the message immobiliser active.

I had this issue a week ago and it went after a flip of the key. But this time wont go.

Codes read were canbus communication error and theft detected. Once you clear them it's fine. Does anyone no the underlying issues to this.?

when my brother's focus was playing up in the same way as yours it was due to dodgy plug connectors. a big multi wire plug connector next to the fuse box under the bonnet and smaller multi wire plug connectors on the inner sill just to left of front passenger's left foot (remove plastic trim on door step and the plastic panel just ahead of that) and pull back carpet. the are various places that the canbus wires connect.  canbus is the computer communication wires which communicate between the engine ecu, the speedo console and the body control module (which is under the glove box in a focus - don't know about yours). it is sending a data stream constantly and any slight interruption due to a dodgy connection causes all manner of intermittent faults.
