2006 focus mk2 1.6 tdci turbo whine

Featured Replies

Hi everyone really need a hand with an issue of a turbo whining. I already have spotted a split pipe and temporarily repaired until new one arrives, (crankcase/airbox breather hose) but turbo still whinning I thought it would have dampened the noise even slightly but I cannot tell, I have checked for leaks but none obvious found, I used fairly washing up liquid in spray bottle to get a leak testing DIY kit, and only found air bubbles coming from the crankcase cap next to the breather but opposite to the oil cap you fill the engine up with oil, I was getting an exhaust smell from the engine bay area, I have recently replaced injector seals as well.

Check the oil feed banjo pipe and oil is there and doesn't looked like any carbonated oil or soot is there blocking.

No idea if it all sums up to the pipe I temporarily repaired actually making no difference, but needing insight as pulling my hair out as it's really annoying.
