Focus 2011 mk3 titanium Sony Radio Dead

Featured Replies

I have a Focus 2011 Titanium with a Sony radio, it powered off while driving on Friday and I have had a black screen of death since.

I have done the following troubleshooting;

- Checked Fuses, 15, 67 and 79 are working.

- Disconnected battery for 10 minutes.

- Removed the radio and reseated cables.

I assume it's dead and needs to be replaced. The door locks and hazard button work but I get no lights on the radio LCD or facia. What would I need to determine if its power related or the radio?

Also the USB charging port still works in the glovebox, i think this feeds off the same connection?

The hazard and lock button is a different wiring loom I think.

It sounds odd that the whole system has gone down and would suggest a fuse or main supply issue

Are you able to insert a cd into the slot at all and have the radio accept it?

We had this on ours a couple of years ago and it turned out to be a knackered information lcd colour screen. Do a quick search on here or google it and you can quite easily get the trim surround off around the radio and centre air vents which will let you get a part number from the rear of the screen and the hunt for a replacement can start.

It doesnt take CD's, I hear no noises coming from either the LCD or Radio. Seems to be a power issue. Fuses are ok swapped these out just as a test too.

Going to get a multimeter and see if power is going through.

Thanks for this I'll take it out tonight and see what I can get.
