2018 S-Max Windscreen Washers

Featured Replies

Guys,

At the end of September I picked up a 2018 (18 plate) S-Max Titanium. A couple of weeks after picking it up I noticed that the windscreen washers were next to useless (I hadn't had occasion to use them before).

The jets on the left and right either hit the wipers, so the only fluid getting to the screen is the splashback from the wipers, or if the wipers are out of the way the jets go straight over the roof of the car and don't hit the screen.

The jets in the middle always go straight over the roof and nothing touches the windscreen.

The dealer I bought the car from is quite a distance away and it isn't really practical to take it back to them. So today it is in at one of my local dealers for them to have a look at it.

However, a short while ago they rang me to say that they had checked the washers and mine function exactly the same as other S-Max's that they have on site.

I can't believe that Ford would produce a car where the washer jets deliberately don't hit the screen.

Does anybody else have a similar age S-Max and can they confirm how the washers function?

Hi, I've the same problem in 2017 S-Max Vignale. Have you solve this?
