car won't start

Featured Replies

Hi all. I wondered if anyone can help me diagnose my car issue.

when you turn the key everything seems normal but the car wont start.

after about 10 seconds of having the key turned a warning comes up, "Engine System Fault" and next warning is "High Engine Temperature"

and this is from cold.

I don't suspect the battery is faulty because I have tried a jump starter for it, and i'm not even get any ticking or clicking like you would with a really low battery.

If I trickle charge the internal battery, it seems to hold a charge but its slowly loses all its capacity over night and results in a dead battery the next morning.

I have tried a OBD reader (which I know works on my MR2) however on the ford after about a minute of scanning it just says link broken, which signals to me its an electrical fault somewhere?

if anyone can help me I would be appreciated, many thanks
