Petrol fiesta 1.4 zetec engine.

I am having trouble with my daughters fiesta which started with the car not attempting to idle and white smoke coming from exhaust. I have cleaned the throttle body, new air filter, repaired the pcv pipe underneath the inlet manifold and checked the pcv valve whilst car was running and seemed to have good suction. I removed it from it's hose and it rattles as it should do. I've replaced rne ECT also. None of this helped it idle. I then examined the small black pipe that goes into the air intake underneath the throttle body which I believe is to do with the PVC system. This was clear with no cracks. I then went to the other end of that pipe which seems to attach to an solenoid, pulled it off the connection of the solenoid and then the car started to idle. Upon refitting the black pipe the car cuts out. Still smokes from the rear (white).

Can anybody help me please with where to go from here?

Many thanks.
