any ideas of a rough cost to fit a new head gasket and skim the head....think some one has cooked it while driving it

Rough ballpark figure £400-£500 at an independent garage.  Have you had any tests done to confirm it's the HG at fault?

 think thats the next job..to do..if its not the head could be a radiator..i was not with the car when it boiled over...i am just fearing the worse case......as the car was driven till it stopped with out water...

if it was driven without water until it literally would go no further then there could be more damage.  when it would go no further did the ecu shut it down or did the engine seize?

just got the report from the garage seems it has done some severe damage.....cylinder head

looks like it was driven till the ecu shut it down.....

just got the report///cylinder head   piston ring and piston head gasket......looks like they quoted for a new cylinder head

total price £1500....its not my car  but i think the bill is very high...

 

 

Sounds about right ot me, the labour will be the main chunk of that bill.
