I'll walk round the car and give the tyres a kick for only £40. 🤣

My local dealer wanted £353 for my 2nd year service in November, fortunately I already had ford maintenence 2 year plan in place which cost me £259 (this included the 1st year convenience check and 2nd year service).

Unfortunately to buy the ford 2 year maintenance plan is now at £370, quite an increase in 15 months since I bought my plan.

When they offered me a quote, it was all over the place - thier quote system couldn't cope with the car having just had an oil change!

Addendum - I've just dug out the service plan quote, to remind myself of why I laughed when I saw it!

But first some background:-

Date of first reg 30/11/2020.

date of purchase (by me), c/w oil/filter change : Mid October 2021, mileage 9,449.

Details on service plan quote, based on 12k/pa:

  • "Apr 2023 or 27,449 miles "Franchise Service 2"
  • Apr 2024 or 39,449 miles "Ford Essential Service
  • This also includes 1 MOT"

So the April 2023 service is purchase mileage + 18k miles (Date is obviously estimated)

The 1 year or 12k miles later for the Essential Service.

Now, I'm wondering if (and someone can confirm this) my freebie Oil/Filter change is the equivalent of the "Essential Service" which was invoiced at £184 ("free" to me).  I guess if I look at the condition of the air filter that would tell me something - anyway, given the  MOT fee of about £55 this makes £239.

The retail price quoted on the plan is £724.94, the pln price is £657.72 - all including VAT.

This would make the "Franchise Service 2" cost £418 - unless they are including some MOT repairs of course!

I did get a quote for the 2 year service online at a ford dealership before declining the quote and while I can't find it now, the £313 I recollect being quoted was a tad less than this! (Tongue now being pulled from cheek)
