Day time Running Lights

Featured Replies

Hi peeps just brought a Fiesta Sport van 2015 mk7 love it , i have only just realised that it has daytime running lights (front only) which i guess uses the H15 for this ,is this correct ? ive checked my settings and there seems no way to turn these off is this correct ?
Just that i have changed all my bulbs to bright white as well,so i guess better buy another set if there on all the time..
Thanks

You cannot turn off DRLs. They are a legal requirement in the UK for new models manufactured from February 2011. They will dim when sidelights or dipped beam are turned on using your light selector switch.

Under EU rules, there should be no option to switch this function off. In other markets such as North America etc where the rules are different, they might be able to switch them off. On the ford website and when advertising vehicles, it does state that not all options will be available in certain market areas so this would apply to vehicle software and hardware.

When DRLs where first introduced to vehicles they were not actually a legal requirement at the time. I had a 2013 Skoda Fabia vRS which had the option to turn them off. I don't know why you would but you could. It wasn't until the facelift that you were unable to turn them off.

I know someone who could sort you out with a set of H15 halogen lamps that have a light output of around 6500K and they have a 1yr guarantee.
