Headlights

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a 68 plate fiesta vignale which is great, except for one thing, I can’t really drive it at night on unlit roads.
The headlights are “ halogen projection” lights, but they certainly don’t project very far, probably ten to fifteen feet at most.

i have taken the car to a ford main dealer who says that there’s nothing wrong with them and nothing they can do.

ive spent a lot of money on this car and am sorely disappointed with these lights, does anyone have any ideas please?

thankyou for your time

Should have gone with the LED option 😉

But seriously I believe there are uprated bulbs available and there are threads here about them but the dip beam has a very sharp cutoff on the standard headlamps which even uprated bulbs won't get around.

Try the Phillips x-tream vision, the LED units that are an option are brilliant if you ever decided to get them in the future.

Was in a Ford dealership some months, one guy was cursing about his Fiesta and his lights was rubbish, he'd previously had an 09 plate and the lights was great at night.

Yeah, I have the standard headlights on mine and they're not great tbh, but I can see with them. Not bothered enough to do anything with them as I rarely need to drive at night on unlit roads nowadays.

I have the same projector type headlights and have also been disappointed with them. I wasted money on a set of high brightness bulbs only to find the light was whiter but I couldn't see any further than before at night. In the end I parked in a dark car park at night and used the adjusting screws under the bonnet to adjust both headlights upwards. That has helped a bit as the light now shines further in front of the car. It was quick and easy using a large allen key. I must remember to wind them back down soon for the MoT in case I've set them too high !
