Which engine is my car?

Featured Replies

I just bought my first car from a ford car dealership where it was advertised as a 1.0L ecoboost, i didnt think to check whether this was true or not since its from a ford garage but once i got home i found the service history of the last owner where it is listed as a 1.2L engine, there is also no ecoboost badge on the back so did ford lie? and how can i tell which engine is currently in the car

You pop the hood open and Google an image of an Ecoboost engine?

If you have the registration document slip (V5C/2) that states you are the new owner (the little green slip), it will tell you there what engine size it is in cc.
The dealership should have given you this.

Thanks, this helps

There's also a sticker on the drivers door pillar gives you Power of engine, it  will be 100, 125 or 140  for a 1 Litre ecoboost. The non ecoboost engines were less than 85 I think.
