Exhaust question

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have a hornet back box and centre pipe on my fiesta and have noticed a slight reduction in power and mpg since the install.

I have read that the free flowing nature of this exhaust reduces the back pressure which can cause this.

I was wondering would adding a sort of small baffle in the end of the exhaust pipe help increase the backpressure again and help recover the lost mpg?

Many thanks

The idea with getting a new exhaust is that it allows you to remap. It's completely pointless adding back restrictions, you may aswell have not touched it in the first place...

I would get a remap but on the 1.25 it's literally pointless as it doesn't do anything so it wouldn't be worth the money.

I just wanted something that sounded nicer. I've found once the engine is warmed up the mpg loss is much less noticeable than cold.
