I see from recent news reports that these things made up 21.2% of new car sales last year, compared to around 6.6% a decade ago. This completely undermines efforts to reduce CO2 from vehicles in this country which had been in decline since the turn of the century, but has been rising again since 2016. The DoT admitted the increase "was broadly due to a shift towards registering larger cars, which have higher emissions".

It seems to my simple mind that, rather than coming up with complicated limits on CO2, NOx, etc which, as we have seen, can be "cheated", more progress could have been made by limits on size and weight. Surely even VW couldn't write software that would make a 2.5 tonne vehicle appear to be only 1.0 tonne?😀

Sounds like they should make less SUVs and probably more MPVs to reduce emissions rather than strangling perfectly good cars out of that class. Fast cars like the RS3s, A45 AMGs now are coming with OPF filters in them which is killing the sounds of them.

Let's face it, about 5% of drivers actually need a car 3 metres wide and 5 long.  The rest have them because they're trendy and next door have one.

To bring this back on topic...

What are the fashion trends of the 10's?

The 'more on top fade' replaced the 00's quiff.  Skinny jeans maybe, don't remember them in the 00's!  The Superdry/Northface black jacket...  Pre-ripped jeans...

Cannot remember what people dressed like in the 00's - apart from me - who dressed horribly 😂

You're right though, skinny jeans didn't exist back in the 00s, maybe fashion was more casual back then? Felt like hoodies and hats were more popular too back then .Now button up shirts and chinos and stuff like that seem to be very common, although I'm not a fan of it personally.

Hmm, 00's clothes...baggy jeans, open shirts over T-shirts, hair bleach and gel everywhere...including frosted tips of course!  Plus 'sports' wear was still big...I think you'll be part of the Total 90 astro boot generation?   Think you may be too young to remember the 'flame' shirt that was big in the early 00's though!  If you've seen American Pie, that's a good reminder of the 00's clothes and music!
