Hello people

Just recently when i put my foot down the rev counter shoots up but the car doesn't match it. If i press the accelerator slowly it's better but still gets the point where the rev counter shoots up but nowt happens. I then have to change to a lower gear and start again

 

Is there anything i can do myself or is it a trip to a mechanic?

    This is a classic slipping clutch problem.  Almost certainly means a trip to a garage for a new clutch kit I'm afraid!

    It will get to the point where you can’t drive at all, every time it slips will bring that day closer so make sure you still have some clutch left to drive it to where the work will be done
