Fiesta new wheels, TPMS error. Can they be reprogrammed?

Hello everyone,

I've got a bit of an issue and was curious to see if anyone can help.

I have a 2016 Ford Fiesta Titanium Ecoboost and decided to upgrade the wheels from standard 16" to 2019 17" ST-Line wheels as I much prefer the look and found a nice deal on eBay, £440 for the wheels and tires which covered only 2k miles from new. The wheels are great, no issues with rubbing or innacurate speeds on the speedometer, however, I keep getting a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) error appear even after re-setting through the car settings on infotaiment system. Am I right in thinking that the new wheels have tire pressure sensors built in like my old ones and if so, would I need to contact a garage to have them re-programmed to the car if possible or have the old sensors taken off the old wheels and fitten on the new wheels? I have no idea how this all works.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Thanks,

I would have taken the old sensors and either transferred or bought new ones of those type, the type could well be different from mk 7 to mk 8.
