1st and 2nd gear judder Powershift

Featured Replies

Hello, sorry if this has been asked a billion times. Long short of it bought a 13 plate auto a month ago. when i guess it’s the clutch plates get hot  from what I’ve researched. It judders from 1st to 2nd gear. I took it back to the dealer - not ford they said they couldn’t find anything wrong. Probably because they ran it round the block.  Anyway ford have said its out of warranty for them to fix what the issue is. Dealer as offered to fix what it but they don’t know what it is. I’ve read it something about something leaks oil on the clutch plate making it stick. Anyone got any terminology for this? If I can’t get this sorted they offering my money back minus £1,200! I’d like them to fix what ever it is. Anyone got any thoughts to throw at this?  Thank you!

Unfortunately it has been asked more than a few times. The input shaft seals leak oil onto the clutch plates. But even without an oil leak they still judder. Modified clutch packs didn't improve it either to a great extent.  I would either insist they get ford to diagnose and rectify the best they can  at no cost to you or tell them you want all your money back.

Thank you so much for your reply - At least I have something to go on. Im Just not sure I’m going to have much success in getting my money. No idea where I find what my rights are.  It just stinks it really does. The ironic thing is after paying £ 6.700 in a panic buy I eventually found a decent mechanic who diagnosed its was the instrument cluster or something on my 2007 focus  now runs like a dream. So don’t even want the new car. Anyway enough of my sob story. Thanks for the advice again!  Kelly

I would contact citizens advise bureau and see what rights you have.
