Replacement MK6 Front Seat Release Handle

Featured Replies

Hi, I tried to remove a broken driver's seat release handle using the two screwdriver method. Unfortunately I just couldn't do it and ended up pulling it off with a claw hammer. I then pulled the cable with some pliers to release the seat forward, put the new handle in place and pushed it in. It didn't work so I'm wondering if the plastic housing the end of the cable is damaged following my claw hammer removal method, thereby causing the new handle failure? Or did I just not push the new handle on properly? I have since pulled the new handle off in frustration.

I have attached pics, there's a tiny bit of plastic missing at the bottom.

Thanks!

I don't know the exact answer, but when my friends seat releases both broke for the 2nd time I tied a boot lace round the end of each cable for her. Not as pretty but does the job.
