Pink Fluid????

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm new but have a fiesta 2003 make (not sure mk number) but I notied there might be a leak. I notices a puddle coming from under the engine area, and where it had pooled I could see it was pink.

I know the antifreeze is pink, but cant tell i the level has dropped. IS thre anything else it could/is likley to be??

Cheers in advance for any help

either antifreeze but also could be power steering fliud...touch it see if its wet or wet and oily.

ok will test tonight when I get home. Hopefully antifreeze as I can still drive it! IF its power steering fluid, can I get an refill that myself or would it be a garage job?

Thank you

you can refill yourself but you will need to find the leak though

I checked the pool on the floor which felt more syrupy than watery/oily. However no more has leaked out since i first noticed the puddle - so hopefully its sorted now.

I checked the water and powersteering baths and all seemed to be fine.

Thanks for your help

most likely pas fluid then if it was pink

hi, its defiantly from the water tank, a mechanic looked at it and said its probably the thermostat housing, could see pink stain on it.

However since not having leaked from wed to sun morn, (including a 120 mile drive) It has started leaking again tonight on the return journey and got through a couple of litres of water, seems to be as soon as the engine is off and starting to cool. Put some radwell stuff in but not helped - still dripping out when off.

Any idea of a ball park figure at what it might cost to get fixed?? or if it might be something other than what he thought. Sorry really dont know much about cars :(

thanks very much.
