I’m looking around 2016/17

What sort of use will the vehicle get? Short drives, town/city use, long-distance only etc?

What was the nature of the problem with the Seat's DPF?  I'm assuming you mean it sooted up and lacked power etc needing regen by a mechanic, but there are other possible problems so good to know what type of problem.

Could depend on the type of DPF too, if it helps my MK4 tdci and galaxy are pretty much the same and Ive zero issues with 100% local driving.  Generally I'll keep it at 2k revs and match the gear to speed is 3rd at 30mph.  My normal commute to work is 2.6 miles each way all local roads, and after 11years it's only reached 40k miles.  I've had zero issues with the Coated Dpf.

The dpf is fairly good on 2015 onwards s max/galaxy. It incorporates catalytic converter/nox trap. There is no fuel vaporiser to block up unlike the earlier snax/galaxy.

My Mk5 Mondeo uses the same engine basically and zero emmisions/smoke comes out under mot test. My journeys are 14 miles each way for work. Copes with that fine as long as you give it an occasional longer drive to keep the nox trap efficiency in check.
