Fiesta MK7 Sony Upgrade

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has already been covered or is in the wrong place.

I recently got my first car which is a 2010 Fiesta Zetec 1.25. It's a great motor but I've wanted to upgrade to the Sony Headunit. I have found and purchased one off of eBay however could do with some help on how to get it to work. I currently have the standard bluetooth radio with the larger display.

The new parts are listed below and i've also attached images of both the current setup and the new parts.

SCREEN - F1BT18B955GA
COWLING - C1BB A045N53
STEREO FACIA/CONTROLS - C1BT 18K811 SA37AE
CD PLAYER - E1BT 18C815 TE

My main question is do I need any additional cables or converters for this? And also what would I need to change in the cars configuration through forscan?

Any help would be absolutely amazing so thanks to all in advance.

I am not 100% certain that will be compatible as it seems you have a MK7 and those parts are from a MK7.5 you would need to source the Sony radio which has the silver air vents. As for the LCD that's unlikely to work at all. I had trouble upgrading my Blue display from my 2015 to an LCD one, although matching the manufacture dates did resolve the issue.

Yep. Unfortunately you've bought the Sony unit from the facelift. Despite looking the same (and operating pretty much the same), the two units are not interchangeable.

The facelift has something called SYNC, which communicates a lot with the ECU for emergency calling in a collision etc.

You can get a Sony unit for the pre facelift (and are pretty common on ebay, just you've bought the wrong one without realising.

Thanks guys! It arrived and sure enough the actual control unit didn't even have the correct sockets on the back for my existing cabling. I also now realise I don't have a sync module but do wonder if i'd be able to retrofit one?

The display of course didn't even turn on when connected to my existing unit however the button fascia bit did work mostly. But I don't see the point in keeping the whole kit if i'm only going to use one bit.

Does anyone know the part numbers for the correct bits?

Thanks again.
