Mk7 windscreen trim retainer moulding loose

Featured Replies

HI all,

New to the forum so by all means tell me if I'm in the wrong section or what not.

Iv bought my missus a mk7 fiesta 1.4 petrol zetec 2008. After a couple of days the trim at the side of the windscreen (retainer moulding) has come loose, now im familiar with cars but there seems to be nowhere to clip it to, it will slide up and hook into a small hole at the bottom near the wipers but will quite literally just pull away, it wont secure.

At the risk of pulling out the epoxy resin and gluing that badboy down does anybody have any ideas, Iv scoured the forums and it would seem there are no topics that discuss this.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

The trim is held in place by double sided tape from the factory , both trims on my daughters Fiesta came loose and were re secured by my local windscreen  installer. They cost about £50.00 a pair to replace from Fords. 😮

Many thanks I appreciate the reply, I'll whip it into the local ford garage and see what the damage is for both to be re-adhered as i think epoxy resin might be overkill 😏
