bruce_rob
Evening guys So I am having some issues with the water system I think it may be an air lock I fill up the tank and get the car running, after some time the water level drops I fill it back up and the process starts again This happens over and over There is no sign of a head gasket failure No oil / water mix The water pump sounds ok I have changed the thermostat Any ideas
dezwez
check all the hoses they maybe a pin hole in them and you can lose a lot of water from them when running😟
Bobr
How far does the level drop? It might be finding its natural level. 1

Gazcaz
You may find it is still settling down.May take a little while,as long as you did the basics fill slowly , making sure highest point had coolant in it.Start car heater on , full blast , hot and on screen setting you should be okay...You can also run it stationary with the expansion cap of and see if any bubbles start a popping ie air then level would drop to replace this obviously. If not look for a leak when up to running temp ie under pressure, rad, pipes etc thats when you will see a leak.Oh check carpet is not wet in case leaking from the matrix. Shane1711
I had the same fault and it was the thermostat sticking
