Featured Replies

hi i was looking for some advice on secondhand engines that will fit in the fiesta, do i have to stick to engines from ford or as its a psa engine can i easily use any 1.6 hdi 16v  citreon or peugeot engine also if i get my mums head off her fiesta and find it has not damaged the pistons are all psa heads interchangable could i put a 16v head from a focus or peugeot  on the fiesta

well its all apart and it appears nothing is broken but it looks like the delightful egr has caused so much carbon that all the inlet ports are so full of carbon with only the size of a pen for the fuel to get through and if its like that at the top by the valves it must be even more blocked. spoke to the local engine builder he said that i need to dig out the  carbon then soak the head in a parafin bath to soften the rest of the carbon.

zain611 had the same trouble on his 1.6tdci fiesta with the carbon. he put loads of stuff on here with photos about how he cleared it all out.  I always have trouble using the search function on this forum, hope you have more luck in making it work.

what happened to the car in the first place, did the cambelt fail? that's what I assume from first posting but it does not actually say what happened.
