Ignition accessory mode switching on itself

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. First time posting and unfortunately it's because I'm looking for help!
I have a 2009 mk2 focus rs with lux pack 1(keyless entry and start. I have owned for about 7 years with barely an issue. It has not been remapped.

This summer the car was off the road for a couple of months while I carried out some work. This included undersealing, fitting an airtec intercooler and pipe kit, airtec radioator and all hoses, new air con condenser, MT Recirc valve and a torque mount. The battery is brand new but was out the car for the time I worked on it.

Since finishing the car runs perfectly. Starts and stops as it should and no warning lights.

However, when I leave the car parked, whether locked or not, and the keys are nowhere near it, the ignition is switching itself on. It's as if I have entered the car with the key and pressed the start button once activating all accessories.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? I have checked the wiring around the areas I was working and there is nothing obvious. The battery is currently disconnected to prevent the issue.

Hope someone can help.
