Featured Replies

Hi all

I am replacing the front struts, springs, brake discs and pads on my 2009 fusion 1.4.  Anyone have or know where to find the appropriate torques settings involved in this job?

Wow that was quick,

Thank you very much.

Yes It's DIY.  Already have most tools but getting the mounting plate off the top of the struts was a challenge that involved a hefty allen key, long reach 18mm socket, bench vice and rubber mallet lol.

Had a coil spring break just as I was pulling out the drive,  lucky it wasn't while driving at any speed.   Unluckily it happened boxing day so been a delay getting parts cos of the holidays. Parts arriving tomorrow so guess what I will be doing. replacing the springs, struts, mountings and bearings and of course once the wheels were off I noticed how bad the brake discs were. So new pads and discs as well.

Shopping list so far is

2x Monroe struts
2x mounting plate and bearing
2x kilen Coil springs
2x Q&H Discs
1 set of pads

Total cost so far 336 Euros. (based in Ireland)
