Ford focus "Auto" st line 2018 model.

Featured Replies

I am amazed that the electric windows on the focus don't function as the 2013 fiesta ( not a titanium model) did.

The drivers side window is one touch to go down but isn't one touch to go up. Surely this isn't right?

The one touch button for the passenger electric window isn't one touch to go down or up either. Is this normal?

The stop start function on the focus works very intermittently; maybe once in every 10 occasions. Yesterday I phoned the dealership. He asked if the car is mainly driven in town, on short journeys. I said yes. He asked if the heating controls are in use , while driving. I said yes. He then said I have to drive the car on a long journey to charge the battery to its optimum, without using the heating controls and that should get the stop start function working again. Is he trying to lead me up the garden path?

Please if there are other St line drivers, kindly advise their experiences about the electric windows and stop start.

Thanks

Hi, If you haven't got all round electric windows on a MK3 Focus you only get one shot down on the driver's door.

Stop Start will only work if it's not detrimental to the battery, so if it's cold plus heating and lights on etc, it won't work.

Yes Only the front windows are electric.

Wow so technically then, if driving in the day time with the heating and lights not being on the stop start will work?

Sort of, basically if the battery is in perfect condition it will work, day or night.

In the day it will stay off for quite a while but at night only about 30 seconds

Thanks for advising; much appreciated.
