Remap

Featured Replies

Hi there, can anyone help me please with info, the previous owner of my 2016 fiesta St 200 had it remapped (supposedly a cp2 map from Collins performance). I was in the process of getting it done again & the guys discovered the ecu has been encrypted, so couldn't proceed, question is, can Ford return it to factory settings??

Thanks in advance.

Hi

TP tuner protection is in the first part of the bootloader, this is the part of the memory that loads first and says hello im an ecu please go to this address 18xa instead of 0000 etc and therfore bypasses the tuned maps section (when entering the ecu via the obd port for information)
You can always bypass TP by removing the ecu and opening it, then connect onto the programming pads internally - this gains access as the car would when you start it
Or you can just reflash it with a stock ford asbuilt file as this will overwrite the bootloader and therfore the TP is gone, but so is the map
